Priprema, fleksibilnost i prilagodba

Planiranje
U radu s korisnicima važne su priprema, fleksibilnost i prilagodba na promjenjive situacije. To se ne odnosi  samo na okolnosti u kojima se nalaze korisnik i pomagač nego i na vanjske okolnosti. Vidimo dakle da je rad s ljudima istodobno umijeće i znanost. To djelomično ovisi o osobnosti i iskustvu pomagača. Reakcije pomagača također dijelom ovise o stupnju slobode unutar organizacije u kojoj radi.

Napomena:  Molimo vas da obavezno provedete aktivnosti koje vam predlažemo. Svoje odgovore ne morate nikome pokazati. Ako ih objavite, molimo vas, vodite računa o tomu da ne otkrivate nikakve informacije koje bi mogle omogućiti identifikaciju korisnika.

 
​PRIPREMA


Pomagač se treba pripremiti za razgovor s korisnikom i odvojiti potrebno vrijeme. To u najmanju ruku uključuje pregledavanje bilješki o korisniku, a može uključivati ​​i konzultacije s kolegama, istraživanje na internetu o pitanjima kojima se korisnik bavi, pronalaženje raspoloživih resursa ili nešto drugo. Pomagač se treba i emocionalno pripremiti.  Ovakva vrsta intelektualne i emocionalne pripreme govori nam o profesionalnosti pomagača.

FLEKSIBILNOST I PRILAGODBA

Čak i uz najbolju pripremu, korisnik može doći s problemima koje pomagač ne očekuje ili koji su u trenutku susreta važniji od onih  koje je pomagač očekivao. Dakle, pomagač mora biti dovoljno fleksibilan da bi se mogao njima baviti.
Nadalje, tijekom susreta štošta se može vrlo brzo promijeniti. Raspoloženje korisnika se može promijeniti. Mogu izroniti uspomene i emocije, a to također može dovesti do drugih problema i promjena planova.

Susret s korisnikom može također potaknuti sjećanja i emocije pomagača. Također, može se promijeniti fizička ili politička ili pravna situacija u regiji .

​Želimo istaknuti  da pomagač često mora biti fleksibilan i da se mora prilagodi svim tim promjenjivim situacijama i emocijama. Čak ni najiskusnijem pomagaču to nije uvijek lako i može prouzročiti stres.

  • Postoje li situacije u kojima fleksibilnost i prilagodba nisu potrebne ili poželjne?
 
ZAVRŠNE NAPOMENE

Za dobrog pomagača od suštinske su važnosti  priprema, fleksibilnost i prilagodba. Neki ljudi su prirodno nadareni tim osobinama, a za sve ostale to je proces učenja.
